India dissolves Digital Communications Commission
The Indian government has dissolved the Digital Communications Commission (DCC) with immediate effect, according to the Times of India. Decisions for telecom projects up to Rs 100 crore can now be made by the Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), while projects up to Rs 500 crore will be handled by the telecom minister. Projects above Rs 500 crore will be referred to the expenditure finance committee, an inter-ministerial body under the Ministry of Finance's Department of Expenditure, before being submitted to the cabinet for formal approval.
