Disruption
A1 closure causes traffic chaos around Hamburg
The A1 motorway in Hamburg will be fully closed, leading to expected long traffic jams, according to DIE WELT. This closure is due to maintenance work on the Norderelbbrücke, and drivers will be redirected through the Elbtunnel. The ADAC warns of significant delays as the Elbtunnel is likely to be overburdened. The closure coincides with the start of the autumn holidays in several federal states, exacerbating the traffic situation.
Impact Logistics and commuters face delays due to A1 closure and increased traffic through the Elbtunnel.
